Hope & Homes Fundraising

The South Wales Support Group, with which Jean and Carol are heavily involved, have raised over ?3000 this year, a significant amount of it through 2 events in the village.  In July, Jean?s afternoon tea at Jancariad, which included a sale of books and plants, raised ?650 whilst Carol?s School Christmas Dinner on 3 December raised ?750 on the night.  This will be match-funded, with Gift Aid to be added.  Carol and Jean thank everyone in the village who supported these events to raise such splendid sums.

photo-0080-1Carol and Jean attended the Supporters annual Afternoon Tea and Carol Concert in London, where they met Ruth Jones (Gavin and Stacey, Stella) who spoke in support of the charity.  She volunteered to help with a fundraising event here next year so if you an idea for something a bit different, tell Carol or Jean!  Otherwise, watch this space!!

Hope & Homes works to ensure all children have the chance to grow up in the love of a family and no longer suffer institutional care.  Find out more here

On Wednesday 14th December over 45 villagers gathered in The Carpenters Arms for the annual Christmas Dinner.  Everyone agreed it was probably the best ever and John Hargreaves called Matt and the staff from the kitchen to thank them, not only for a wonderful meal that evening but for their service through out the year. Thanking Matt and teampeople-2people-5people-3
