Residents’ Association

The Coed-y-Paen Residents’ Association (CyPRA) represents all local residents.  It is run by a committee elected at the AGM (usually February) and attempts to represent the village views on things such as planning matters, services such as broadband speed (or lack of it), road conditions etc as well as organising social events.  There is no membership fee although the Treasurer likes to suggest every household contributes a nominal ?2 to keep the bank balance ticking over.  An annual contribution to funds is usually received from Llangybi Community Council.

The last Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday 27th February 2019 in the Carpenters Arms. The agenda included the (acting) Chairman’s report – in which Dennis Perkins highlighted the improvements to the village bench – and the Community Councillors’ reports which summarised the year’s events.  John Hargreaves stood down from the committee having spent a considerable number of years as Chairman and Secretary.  The current committee is:

Dennis Perkins (Chairman), Sue Rogers (Secretary), Mary Bailey, Val Clare, Gerald Davies, Nick Morley,  Lynn Perryman, Jean Scarborough, Denise Thomas, Graham Rogers (ex officio, Community Councillor).
