The Welsh national lockdown unfortunately prevented a full Remembrance Sunday service, but with a little ingenuity, the Coed-y-Paen community still managed to commemorate the day in a COVID safe manner.

Members of the community rallied around to create a poppy wall and a small gathering of villagers braved the rain to stand and pay their respects outside Christchurch.

It was wonderful to listen in the tranquillity of rural life, to the church bells, the two minute silence and the last post, which on this drizzling day paid tribute to those who sacrificed themselves and protect our freedom.

A huge thank you to Nick, Amy, Cilla and all who were responsible for organising!

We will remember them.
