The Village Barbecue on Sunday 2nd August (at Sue & Graham’s) was attended by 47 villagers and raised £610 for church funds and charities. This was mostly from donations (and associated gift aid) but also from a plant sale and raffle. An immediate donation of £100 was made to ‘Bloodwise’, the leukaemia and lymphoma charity, from the proceeds.
The meat was all very local, ie from the village, and expertly barbecued by Graham! Roger Morgan donated a half lamb which had been cut into barbecue style pieces whilst the Morris’ at Pentrewaun supplied the burgers and sausages at a very generous price. People had brought salads to share and their own drinks so it was a very satisfied community who enjoyed the guitar entertainment from Dave Rees.
The weather was fabulous, the garden looked great and everyone had a great time.
